Once again our thanks and gratitude are extended to the National Lottery Community Fund, which has awarded Watlington Parish Council with a staggering grant of £20,000 for a Ninja Trail. This has advanced the limited play facilities on the Warren Close Play Area to a whole new level without any cost to the public purse.
Watlington Parish Council is a proactive Council and continually looks for ways to improve play facilities in the village to help provide social interaction, mental and health development and overall wellbeing.
The community campaigned to expand play facilities, and a survey showed there were 53 people in support of the Council improving the play facilities on this site.

A Ninja Trail provides physical and cognitive stimulation for children aged four and older, and even adults – allowing the community to be active and have fun together.
Without access to exciting equipment, children struggle to develop vital skills. This equipment provides a broad range of benefits, helping children to thrive.
Huge appreciation is extended to Finding Fitness Ltd, who worked with Watlington Parish Council to help with the successful bid for lottery funding.

Regrettably the tower had to be uninstalled due to its height and interference with overlooking adjacent properties. An agility step ladder will instead be installed in its place (currently being manufactured)

Play equipment is so important for children’s development and community togetherness. However, it can be very expensive and underused, and it’s not always easy to find equipment that everyone can use. Most equipment targets specific age groups, but the Monkey Challenge is for everyone! Children aged four and above, teenagers and adults can enjoy this activity, and the wall is double sided too, allowing many users to all have fun at the same time!
